If Somerset do beat Lancashire today, the one side they’ll want to slip up are Surrey.
The County Championship leaders are 32 points clear in the table, and Somerset will be desperate to claw some of those points back before the pair meet in the penultimate round.
Surrey just about shaded the opening day at Chelmsford thanks to some determined batting by Rory Burns (90) and Dean Elgar (75).
They’ll be looking to push on when play gets under way at 10:30 BST.
